I am back from ENK in NYC

It was a long, but exciting 3 days for me. There were so many great booths to see and people to meet. I was able to preview all of the spring/summer collections and I know you will love what I have found for Pink Watermelon Kids. The girls market is full of bright colors and lots of peace signs! The boys were a lot of fun to buy for. JB Vintage is a new favorite of mine. I can't wait for you to see their line sheets for spring. I promise to post some preview pictures tomorrow!

Pink Watermelon Kids is off to NYC

Pink Watermelon Kids is moving into high gear! I am off to the ENK Children's Show in NYC for my first large buying show. I will be taking lots of pictures of the new lines for Spring/Summer so check back in a few days.

Holiday Season is coming and Pink Watermelon Kids will launch the business with clothing for the winter and holiday seasons. Not only do we have trendy clothing, but plenty of accessories! We will have a Grand Opening for all of you local people on November 5th and then our website will officially launch on November 10th. First Buying Season

I know it has been awhile since I last posted. My daughter started preschool for the first time after Labor Day and for the first time in 10 years, I did not start school as a teacher. As strange as this has been for me, I am very excited about the opening of Pink Watermelon Kids. We are getting closer and closer! I leave for my first buying show in NYC in 2 weeks although I did attend a smaller Mid Atlantic show last week. I have already bought great clothing and accessories from Toni Tierney, Wes and Willy, Dogwood, Mullins Square, Sweet Katie, Flirt Couture and many more! The website is coming along. This week has flown by! Between the kids, contacting clothing lines and of course watching the Olympics, I cannot believe it is already Friday. I have spent the past month contacting different sales reps to figure out which lines to carry for Pink Watermelon Kids. There are many choices, but I want to choose the perfect lines for my soon to be customers. I am now narrowing my list after looking over line sheets. I am so excited about our logo. Thanks to Timi at Cinnamon Girl Designs for letting me make changes along the way. Now it is on to the website and I am starting to order the lines I want to sell when we open. So many decisions, but I am having a lot of fun!

Welcome to my blog! I am opening an infant/children's clothing boutique online as well as selling to local people out of my home in November 2008. After almost 10 years of teaching and the birth of my second daughter, I decided to stay home. I had always wanted to own a clothing business and now seemed like the perfect time to start one.
